It doesn't matter what one faces: loss, physical or personal assault, disagreement with a friend or loved one, conflict with a community member, we all struggle with either continuing in conflict and holding actions against another or letting it all go. Every day we are confronted with the challenge to hang onto wrongdoing or release it. When we let it all go, does this mean we are in agreement with the wrongdoing? For those who believe in the teachings of Christ, it simply means that we still see the suffering within and without and that we surrender any belief that we, the individual can right the wrongdoing. We surrender to a power greater than self. We surrender to the current flow of the good, of the true, of the Omnipotent. The outcome? We don't know what the outcome will be externally.
But when we go through that opening that takes us to the place, the territory of surrender we can rest assured that the outcome will be good. How it will happen in that deepest place within--we don't know. There is deep mystery in the working of goodness, of love, of forgiveness. To surrender to that power is to be in a place of stillness where thought is useless, we are in a place of knowing fully and completely the cleansing power of goodness--in a place that is beyond order and chaos. May we all travel daily the pathway that leads us beyond order and chaos.
