RISING ABOVE THE SCRIPT  7"x5" mixed media on 80lb sketch paper

Our scripts form childhood can play a major factor in the decisions we make as adults.  Whether incest, sexual abuse, neglect through being the favorite child, abandonment, projection of the fears and shame of our caregivers ...whatever the experience, there was a script written in the mind.  The script is the rationale of what we came to believe about ourselves, others and the world. Through ritual and ceremony, connected to Indigenous practices and the teachings of Christ, I've come to understand that the script is simply a script.  Our individual and collective scripts can be revised,  altered, the shape  shifted and with the help of the supernatural, we can rise above our scripts.  That is good news!
