Waiting

As a Spiritual Director in training, also known as a SoulGuide, I've been learning a very important discipline--waiting/patience/faith.When in the Sweat Lodge ceremony, in the Fasting Lodge, hunting, fishing, gathering food, waiting in a line-up--patience is the desired companion.  Impatience in my history is linked with rage, control and the compulsion to be right.Growing up in a childhood environment that breeds chaos, mistrust, the habit of dissociation and fear, the compulsion to expose the truth can be brutal when helping others. Letting go of the past means forgiving When I'm no longer attached to the need to expose the lie, the river can take me to many beautiful shorelines in the lives of others.
